Hey, it's Pallavi -- i'll be the one posting in italics.
So, here are some things I'll miss: cookies from Java Jack's, our fully reclining Lazy Boy couch, the election, the new season of the Office, cookies from French Meadow, the autumn, the Golden Girls (Estelle Getty, rest in peace), re-opening of the 35W bridge, Target, book club.
And, here are some things I'm excited for: New Year's Eve fireworks in Sydney, sunrise at Angkor Wat, trying to find "Ketut" in Ubud, gelato, Peace House School in Tanzania, going to see Amol's relatives in Mumbai & Pune for the first time, overnight train to Cappadocia, camel races in Dubai, pizza.

Hm...maybe you should add to your list of things to do in every place: look for good cookies.
Can you get absentee ballots so you can vote, at least?
we're good to go on the absentee ballots. we want to make sure that the wrong person doesn't win by 2 votes.
hopefully one of those places will have lifetime so you can watch the golden girls dubbed in italian.

Our neighbors just came back from Peace House in Tanzania. I told them you guys were going. What are the odds? They were interested in knowing how you found out about the Peace House, and also will let their contacts there know.

We were in Firenze just three weeks ago. Have you visited Piazzale Michelangelo yet? We had a New York style pizza in a pizzeria. It was good. Shopping/bargaining was fun too.
